BUILT FOR CHICKEN SKIN (KERATOSIS PILARIS)

Chicken skin, or keratosis pilaris, happens when excess keratin builds up and blocks the hair follicles. That’s what leaves you with rough, bumpy skin and sometimes redness on your arms, thighs and legs.

Our cream combines three exfoliating acids (glycolic, lactic and salicylic) with urea and niacinamide. The acids help loosen that buildup and smooth the texture. The urea and niacinamide hydrate and support your skin barrier, so skin feels soft, not stripped.

Use it daily and your skin gets smoother and softer over time. It’s made for strawberry legs, bumpy arms and rough thighs.

What is keratosis pilaris and what causes it?

Keratosis pilaris (KP), often called chicken skin, is a very common skin condition that causes small, rough bumps, usually on the arms, thighs and buttocks. It happens when excess keratin, a protein in your skin, builds up and plugs the hair follicles. It often runs in families and tends to be worse when skin is dry, especially in winter.

How is StrawBerry Skin different from regular body creams?

Most body creams only moisturise. StrawBerry Skin combines five ingredients in one cream: glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid to exfoliate, urea to soften and hydrate, and niacinamide to support your skin barrier. It’s pH-balanced at 3.8-4.0 so the acids work well and stay gentle. You can also add our exfoliating towel to your subscription for gentle weekly smoothing.

Is this safe for sensitive skin?

It’s designed to be gentle, but it contains exfoliating acids, so we recommend a patch test first. Apply a small amount to your inner arm for 24 hours before using it all over. If you get irritation, stop using it. Start with every second day if your skin is sensitive, then build up to daily. Use sunscreen daily on areas exposed to the sun, as acids can increase sun sensitivity.

Will StrawBerry Skin help with “strawberry legs” after shaving?

Yes, it’s made for strawberry legs, the dotted, rough look many people get on their legs. It helps smooth texture and keeps skin soft. Apply it after your shower, but not on freshly shaved skin, since acids can sting. Shave first and use it the next day.

How quickly will I see results?

Results vary from person to person. Many people notice softer skin within the first couple of weeks, with smoother texture building over 2 weeks of daily use.

Can I use this on my face?

No, Velvet Skin is formulated for the body only. Please don’t apply it to your face or other delicate areas.

Can I use this while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Please check with your doctor before using it. It contains exfoliating acids, including salicylic acid, and it’s best to get medical advice when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
